This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kansas City, MO, for a Referral and Medical Records Supervisor. The individual in this role will manage the daily operations of the referral and medical records department, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. Responsibilities include supervising and training staff, overseeing health information management processes, maintaining accurate and secure records, monitoring referral workflows, and ensuring timely communication with patients and providers. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is also a key aspect of the role to promote efficiency and accuracy in patient care services.
- Strong Supervisory Skills, with experience in staff management and team leadership.
- Proficiency in Health Information Management and solid understanding of Medical Terminology.
- Knowledge of and/or certification in RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) is highly preferred.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage confidential records with integrity are essential.
- Familiarity with health center workflows and electronic medical record systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field is preferred.
