What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lighting Designer position at KBSO Consulting LLC?

The duties and responsibilities of a Lighting Designer include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate lighting systems, products, components, and applications by designing and applying lighting knowledge.
- Have the ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
- Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
- Cross-discipline coordination of MEPT components within Revit.
- Facilitate production of construction documents (drawing and specifications) for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing facilities.
- Communicating effectively with clients and internal team members in the design and specification development of lighting and lighting control systems.
- Building and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Conduct field surveys to determine existing project conditions.
- Conduct construction site visits to ensure systems are installed per drawings and specifications.
- Respond to contractor RFIs and review project shop drawings/submittals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Two or four-year accredited program in Architectural Engineering, Interior Design or related field of study
- Five or more years of related experience in the building design industry
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Skills
- Software experience with Revit MEP and AGi32
- NCQLP Lighting Certified (LC)
