Summary Of Duties

• Communicates inventory needs to Materials Management personnel and contacts suppliers for technical information as needed
• Performs daily work activities with minimal supervision
• Provides operational guidance to junior lab aides, and serves to mentor junior lab aides in techniques
• Prepares reagents and completes reagent batch records
• May provide feedback to area management on junior staff performance.
• Provides operational support for the activities of all testing departments including reagent preparation, cleaning activities, and equipment maintenance.
• Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
• Completes recording of data in logbooks and lab cleaning forms to comply with regulatory requirements
• Completes all prerequisite site-specific and job-specific training (e.g, Bloodborne Pathogens, Safety, GDP, and BSL2 , etc.).
• Understands proper cleaning technique and impact of the cleaning/sanitization program has on the GLP environment
• Identifies and communicates material discrepancies
• Understands the concept of various lab equipment
• Performs laboratory support functions (e.g. materials stocking, taking out biohazard trash) to help ensure lab is operational and contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals and objectives
• Performs routine equipment cleaning (i.e. centrifuges, biosafety and chemical hoods, refrigerators, incubators and freezers) and keeps records according to guidelines and SOPs
• Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
  
  

Requirements For Our GMP Tech Position

• 3 years of experience in a laboratory or biotech/pharma environment.
• Experience leading a team preferred.
• Familiarity with GLP/GMP standards.
• Prior experience performing lab support functions and handling cleanroom protocols or biosafety environments
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned. 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).
