The Truss Production Lead is responsible for working autonomously and lead others in assembling, fabricating, and preparing wood roof and floor trusses used in modular home construction. This position involves operating production equipment, handling building materials, reading production drawings, maintaining quality standards, and working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Assemble wood trusses according to engineering specifications and production drawings.
- Position lumber components on assembly tables and secure metal connector plates.
- Operate hydraulic presses, pneumatic tools, saws, and other production equipment.
- Measure, cut, and verify lumber dimensions and component placement.
- Inspect finished trusses for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Move raw materials and completed trusses throughout the production area.
- Stack, band, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
- Assist with inventory management and material staging as needed.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license for ability to drive a KBS vehicle.
