Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an urgent care setting, addressing a wide range of medical conditions and ensuring the well-being of our patients. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective treatment plans and manage patient care efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, and catheterization as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as required.
Skills
Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes, but is not limited to:
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or critical care settings.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Familiarity with various medical procedures including IV infusion, phlebotomy, spinal tap, and airway management.
- Ability to manage acute pain effectively and provide behavioral health support.
- Experience working with pediatric patients as well as adults in diverse settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and infection control practices.
- Skills in case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and health coaching are advantageous.

Schedule: 3x 12-hour shifts per week, 7a-7p
Patient Census: 40-50 per day
Mild to high-acuity patients
Procedures: EKGs, I&D, lacerations, sutures, and basic splinting
Equipment: Hyfrecator and X-ray capability
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Paid travel & expenses
Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour
