SUMMARY: This position is responsible for preparing food in accordance to recipes and quality standards placed by Hot Stuff Kitchen guidelines in an exciting and fast-paced food environment. Employees in this position must: accurately record food production levels, use of food components, waste, etc. Take and process customer orders in a timely manner. Strive to make and serve high quality food products. Prepare regular supply orders as needed. Keep supervisor informed of daily activities, issues, and seek approvals as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma, GED or Certificate of Completion is required.

  2. Minimum of one (1) year of commercial cooking experience is required.

  3. Prior work experience preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and serving food is preferred.

  4. Must have basic knowledge of kitchen operations and kitchen/prep-area sanitation techniques.

  5. Must have knowledge of First-In First-Out (FIFO) food rotation system.

  6. Must possess or obtain within 90 days of hire, a Food Handler Certification and/or ServSafe Certification.

  7. Must be responsible and reliable.

  8. Must maintain composure under pressure.

  9. Must have the ability to work independently and with others in a cooperative environment where constant communication is essential.

  10. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.

  11. Must be willing to attend training, work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  12. Knowledge of food costing, food waste control and product marketing is a plus.

· Prepares food for customers in accordance to recipes, prep sheets, standards placed by Hot Stuff Kitchen.

· Performs proper: receiving, thawing, storage, proportioning, heating, cooking, holding, and re-heating product (including sauces, soups, salad bar items, lunch, dinner, and produce).

· Follows checklists and production schedules to provide efficient department operations.

· Be clean, neat, and orderly.

· Maintains good personal hygiene and cleanliness.

· Maintains high quality food standards at all times.

· Demonstrates proper use of dry and liquid measure and scales.

· Stores food in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and food spoilage.

· Restocks prep area, cooking line, coolers and related areas as required.

· Labels and stores all prepared foods properly.

· Processes food orders in an efficient and timely manner.

· Sets up and breaks down food stations and equipment.

· Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities and obtains approvals, as needed.

· Informs supervisor of equipment repair or maintenance needs.

· Accurately record waste, transfers and productions levels.

· Prepares weekly order for supplies needed in the deli.

· Scans vendor deliveries on handheld device and match to invoice for accuracy.

· Stocks shelves and coolers with product upon delivery.

· Cleans, maintains, and disinfects all work areas, surfaces, kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and coffee bar.

· Empties garbage, sweeps, mops floors, and cleans surfaces and equipment.

· Dispose of un-sellable items properly.

· Participate in monthly inventory when needed.

· Performs all other job-related duties as assignment by manager.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.Must be physically mobile and have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend/stoop, and carryand lift up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted.

2.Employee must pass a pre-employment background clearance, physical, and drug screen. Employeeshandling food will be required to have pre-employments and annual TB Skin Test.
