Job Overview
As a Materials Manager, you will handle incoming and outgoing shipments, accurately track inventory levels, contribute to production prep. Strong attention to detail, organization, and effective communication skills are essential for this role.
What you’ll do:
Receiving:
- Unload and inspect incoming freight, using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders to check for accurate quantity, quality, and condition.
- Process and report any damages or discrepancies to the appropriate manager or vendor.
Shipping:
- Prepare and pack items for shipment, using appropriate materials and labeling them correctly.
- Generate shipping documents such as bills of lading utilizing MES computer program.
- Coordinate with management team for outgoing shipments.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records by entering and updating data from incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and identify items that need to be reordered.
- Organize and maintain a clean and orderly stockroom or warehouse.
Documentation and Administration:
- Record all shipping and receiving data for reporting and recordkeeping purposes.
- Handle and process related paperwork.
- Utilize MES computer program to access and update inventory or shipping bill of lading.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to continually lift heavy items (75lbs ) and perform tasks like bending and stacking.
- Experience with warehouse equipment like forklifts
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. .

- Background in logistics or warehouse operations that supports effective inventory management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability in demand planning and production planning processes.
