Cabinet Shop Production Assistant
KBI Custom Case, Inc. – Spring Grove, Illinois
KBI Custom Case is seeking a dependable and hardworking Cabinet Shop Production Assistant to support multiple areas of our commercial cabinet and millwork operation.
This is a hands-on shop position for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and willing to assist wherever needed. Some previous cabinet shop, woodworking, manufacturing, warehouse, or construction experience is preferred.
Compensation
Starting pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience and ability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with shipping and receiving, including loading, unloading, checking, organizing, and storing materials.
- Help assemble cabinets and other casework components.
- Assist with countertop fabrication and finishing.
- Support panel layup and laminating operations.
- Catch, inspect, stack, and organize parts coming off the edgebander.
- Move carts, sheet materials, cabinet components, and completed products throughout the shop.
- Package and prepare completed cabinets and materials for delivery.
- Keep work areas, aisles, carts, equipment, and common areas clean and organized.
- Perform general material handling and production support tasks.
- Follow shop procedures and required safety practices.
- Assist in other production areas as workload and scheduling require.
Qualifications
- Some previous shop, woodworking, cabinet, manufacturing, warehouse, or construction experience is preferred.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and assist in different areas of the shop.
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic ability to accurately read a tape measure is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is helpful.
- Forklift or material-handling experience is a plus.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle finished materials without causing damage.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull loaded shop carts.
- Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive production tasks.
- Ability to safely work around woodworking machinery, tools, dust, and noise.
