KBF is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our SALT (Income & Franchise) team.
The KBF SALT Income and Franchise group offers support across multi-state income tax planning, compliance, and provision work, as well as exposure to restructuring, due diligence, and audit support. As a leader in this space, the group's collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment offers employees the opportunity to work with both high caliber team members and top-tier clients while maintaining a small firm atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary state income tax consulting team helping clients with their most complex state tax issues, including apportionment analyses, identifying refund opportunities, developing and delivering technology solutions, due diligence support, organizational structure optimization, and general consulting matters
- Assist multi-jurisdictional companies with state tax return review engagements focused on identifying and securing cash recoveries and/or prospective tax savings
- Research and draft technical memoranda or slide decks regarding income, franchise, sales and use tax, and other state and local tax questions
- Build and manage client relationships and supervise, mentor, and develop associates
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required, Master of Accounting a plus
- CPA, EA or JD/LLM preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of recent experience in performing tax research, reviewing state income tax returns and providing technical advice on multi-state income tax issues
- Motivated, quick learner with strong communication skills and demonstrated professionalism
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Individuals must be eligible to work in the U.S.

The salary range for this position reflects various factors that influence compensation decisions, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, licensure, geographic location, and other organizational requirements. At KBF Advisory, it is uncommon for a candidate to be hired at the high end of the salary range, as compensation is based on the unique qualifications and circumstances of each individual. The estimated current salary range for this role is $90,000 to $125,000.
