Position Summary:
The Project Executive has the overall responsibility for the oversight of assigned construction projects from preconstruction to close out.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Strategic Leadership
- Support the Strategic Plan by providing vision and strategic oversight.
- Cultivate a team-focused environment and maintain alignment with company values.
- Promote strong subcontractor relationships and uphold respectful collaboration.
Mentorship and Staff Development
- Train and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project/Field Engineers.
- Provide targeted guidance to Project Superintendents to enhance technical and leadership skills.
- Partner with the General Superintendent to evaluate field staff effectiveness, productivity, and alignment with project objectives.
- Participate in performance reviews for assigned staff
- Contribute feedback for employee evaluations and support employee development via KBE You training programs.
Client and Industry Engagement
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and facilitate repeat business.
- Represent KBE in the community and industry by participating in events, associations, and charitable activities.
Project Oversight
- Attend project kickoff meetings and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure quality, schedule, and cost goals are met across assigned projects.
- Guide Project Managers in subcontractor buyout, scope development, and procurement.
- Oversee project schedules, cost reports, cash flow, and contract compliance.
- Visit job sites regularly to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Resolve disputes involving owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams as needed.
Preconstruction Support
- Provide input into estimates, value engineering, constructability, and project schedules, utilizing past lessons learned.
- Provide input into general conditions, requirements, and temporary services.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and prequalification status; recommend selections for inclusion in bid/GMP packages.
Contract Administration
- Review owner contracts and budgets; coordinate with estimating and legal teams.
- Ensure billing aligns with contract terms and conditions.
Subcontractor Relationships:
- Promote a culture of respect and collaboration by engaging subcontractors as integral members of the project team, including through roundtable discussions and lessons learned sessions.
- Ensure KBE associates uphold strong, values-driven relationships with subcontractors, maintaining accountability to KBEs standards of professionalism and partnership.
Oversee project management process on assigned projects and through working with assigned PMs. May also function as the lead PM on certain projects. Please refer to the Sr. Project Manager job description for lead position details.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field
- 10 years of supervisory construction related experience
- Leadership ability to manage and motivate employees
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with flexibility and good judgment
- Travel is required for this position
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
