About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Pre-Sales Consultant with deep upstream oil & gas engineering and simulation experience to support the growth of our technology and consulting solutions across North America.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of engineering, software, and commercial strategy, acting as a trusted technical advisor to operators and partners. You’ll lead customer engagements throughout the sales cycle—demonstrating how advanced simulation, production optimization, and emerging digital technologies (including AI/ML) solve real-world operational challenges.

🔧 What You’ll Do
- Act as the technical authority during the pre-sales cycle, supporting opportunities from early discovery through deal close
- Translate customer production challenges, KPIs, and workflows into high-value software and solution use cases
- Design and deliver customized demos, proof-of-concepts, and pilot projects using upstream simulation tools
- Support RFPs, technical questionnaires, and proposals with clear, compelling technical content
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, R&D, and Consulting teams to align customer needs with solution capabilities
- Engage directly with customers during trials and pilots to ensure technical success and adoption
- Provide structured feedback to product and engineering teams to influence the product roadmap
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with customer technical and decision-making stakeholders
⭐ What You Bring
Technical Expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong experience in upstream oil & gas production and operations
- Proven hands-on expertise with production, process, and/or flow assurance simulation tools, such as:
- Maximus, PIPESIM, OLGA, PROSPER/GAP, LedaFlow, Petro-SIM, HYSYS (or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of production monitoring, optimization, and forecasting
- Experience with thermodynamics, PVT, and phase behavior modeling (e.g., Multiflash, PVTsim, Refprop)
- Exposure to production data management systems (PDMS), analytics, and AI/ML is a strong plus
Customer & Commercial Skills
- Experience in technical sales, pre-sales, consulting, or client-facing engineering roles
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Confidence presenting to customers, influencing decisions, and building credibility at all levels
- Strong written skills for proposals, technical documentation, and whitepapers
Bonus Experience
- Field operations or production engineering background
- Experience working with operators, EPCs, or oil & gas technology vendors
- Exposure to major North American operators or NOCs
