The production operator performs various duties associated with the assembly of switch machines along with sub assemblies involving numerous tools and presses with the assistance of prints and work instructions.

Essential Functions:

- Utilize and interpret engineering mechanical schematics, plans, and prints to assemble and wire railroad products for railroad signalling.
- Work from complex written instructions, drawings, and /or documentation to determine methods of mechanical builds
- Strong attention to details.
- Work as an effective team member focused on meeting/exceeding business goals and creating a safe working environment and culture.
- Use hand tools, torque tools, rivoters, drill presses, hand presses, overhead cranes, and power tools to perform work.
- Work with certain chemicals: rust veto, grease, lubricating oil, and loctite
- Proactively work with others to increase productivity and reduce cost.
- Meet/exceed department metrics to include; efficiency, utilization rates, DPMO (Defects per Million Opportunities)
- Previous printed circuit board assembly experience
- Basic math skills to including; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a multifunctional team environment
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions
- Basic soldering skills
- Basic component identification skills
- Organization Skills
- Time Management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand fractions
