Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on data leader to design, build, and operate our analytics platform from the ground up. You will integrate SAP S/4HANA and auxiliary systems into a governed data warehouse (Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric), establish data quality and governance standards, and deliver trusted Power BI dashboards for financial and operational insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Ownership: Select and implement our cloud data warehouse (Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric) and supporting tools for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
- SAP Integration: Design and implement repeatable ingestion of SAP S/4HANA FI/CO data (via ODP/CDS/SLT or 3rd-party connectors) and auxiliary sources.
- Data Modeling: Create conformed dimension/reference tables, star schemas, and semantic layers for analytics and reporting.
- Governance & Quality: Implement catalog, lineage, and data quality checks; define SLAs, security (including row-level security), and naming/versioning standards.
- BI Delivery: Develop and maintain Power BI datasets and dashboards, including measures, calculation groups, and refresh strategies.
- Collaboration: Translate business requirements into data products; mentor analysts and engineers; document patterns and best practices.
- 7 years building analytics platforms in Azure or AWS; hands-on experience with Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric/Synapse.
- Strong SQL and dimensional modeling (Kimball/star schema); DAX and Power Query/M proficiency for Power BI.
- Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA (FI/CO focus) into a cloud data warehouse; familiarity with SAP tables/domains.
- Knowledge of ELT/CDC tools (e.g., Fivetran, Matillion, Qlik Replicate, or SAP-native tools) and orchestration (ADF/Fabric pipelines or Airflow).
- Exposure to data governance (Purview, Collibra, or equivalent) and data quality frameworks.
- CI/CD for data (Git, automated tests, deployment pipelines).
- Nice to have: dbt or Fabric equivalent, Python for data engineering, experience with Fabric OneLake.
