Duties
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children of various ages, including toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Ensure safety by adhering to childhood development best practices, behavior management strategies, and mandated reporting laws
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure the health and safety of those in your care
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about daily activities, milestones, and any concerns
- Support children’s emotional needs through nurturing interactions, encouragement, and positive reinforcement
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering (for infants), nap times, and hygiene practices
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and understanding their unique needs
- Strong background in early childhood education, including preschooler care and classroom experience
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and behavior management techniques
- Ability to plan engaging activities tailored to children’s interests and developmental levels
- Proficiency in first aid, CPR certification, and mandated reporting laws compliance
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children in daycare or nanny settings
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching young children
