What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peeler Operator- 2nd Shift position at Kayem Foods?
SUMMARY: Responsible for peeling product in a productive manner, delivering quality results, while observing all product quality and efficiency, as well as being a team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setup Peeler Equipment and peel products
- Setup and operate delinkers
- Take and record product temperatures
- Observe operation to detect faulty peeling and prevent any jam-ups
- Load and unload brine chiller machine when necessary to continually feed line
- Visually inspects the product for any non-conforming areas
- Coordinate with line leadership for proper setup – hotdog size, formula, product code to setup and peel the correct product
- Receive products from the smoke alley when necessary
- Assist team leaders in the line
- Rotate positions in the line when needed
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to read and comprehend simple labels and instructions in English. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. In addition, the employee must be able to pass HACCP training, be a team player, and be willing and capable of being cross trained in all positions in the department.

Pay Range
The base pay range for this role is $19.75 USD/Hourly
The listed salary range represents Kayem Foods’ good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire pay ranges.
Ranges are reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued wage growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for an annual wage review. Kayem Foods complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
