A leading global biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a senior clinical development leader to help guide a portfolio of innovative therapies targeting hematologic cancers. This role will be responsible for shaping development strategy and advancing programs through clinical development while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.
The individual in this position will serve as a central scientific and strategic leader for one or more hematology assets, ensuring alignment between clinical, regulatory, scientific, and operational priorities as programs progress through development.
Core Focus of the Role
Clinical Strategy & Program Direction
- Provide leadership in defining the clinical development path for therapies targeting hematologic malignancies, including study strategy, indication prioritization, and overall development roadmap.
- Interpret emerging clinical and scientific data to refine development plans and maintain competitive positioning within rapidly evolving treatment landscapes.
- Contribute to key decisions regarding clinical trial progression, study design considerations, and development milestones.
Enterprise Collaboration
- Work closely with experts across translational science, biomarker development, clinical operations, safety, regulatory strategy, and commercial planning to ensure integrated program execution.
- Facilitate alignment among internal teams and contribute to internal governance discussions that support strategic decision-making.
- Represent the program within senior leadership discussions and internal portfolio reviews.
Clinical Trial Leadership
- Provide medical and scientific guidance across clinical studies, from early-phase trials through later-stage development programs.
- Support the design and interpretation of studies evaluating novel therapeutic approaches in hematologic cancers.
- Ensure development strategies reflect current standards of care, emerging science, and evolving regulatory expectations.
Leadership & Influence
- Serve as a key scientific voice within the development organization, helping guide program priorities and supporting collaboration across matrixed teams.
- Mentor and support clinical colleagues while fostering an environment of scientific rigor and thoughtful decision-making.
Background & Experience
- Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD).
- Extensive experience in oncology drug development with meaningful exposure to hematologic malignancies.
- Track record of contributing to clinical development strategies for innovative therapies in oncology.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams supporting complex clinical programs.
- Ability to communicate scientific and strategic concepts clearly to senior leadership and cross-disciplinary teams.
