We have been retained by a leading biopharmaceutical company advancing novel therapeutics for liver disease. As the organization continues to scale, they are building a high-performing, scientific, and collaborative medical organization. To support this growth, they are seeking a Health Systems Liaison a strategic field-based scientific expert who will serve as a primary partner to regional payers, IDNs, large GI groups, specialty pharmacy, and other key healthcare decision makers.

This role blends scientific engagement, health systems strategy, HEOR support, and cross-functional collaboration to drive informed decision-making around access, evidence, and value.

Territory: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain peer-level scientific relationships with key decision makers across organized health systems, including health plans, PBMs, IDNs, regional payers, and large GI practices.
  • Communicate clinical data, disease-state information, real-world evidence, and health economics insights in a balanced and compliant manner.
  • Partner closely with Market Access and Key Account Director (KAD) colleagues to shape and execute strategic account plans.
  • Coordinate with regional MSLs and Clinical Practice Liaisons to ensure scientific and medical alignment across affiliated systems.
  • Serve as a strategic resource to the Health Systems leadership team and contribute to broader medical planning.
  • Support HEOR initiatives within regional accounts, collaborating with headquarters teams as needed.
  • Address scientific questions from Market Access and KAD stakeholders, providing clear, credible, and data-driven responses.
  • Attend key scientific and medical meetings; prepare and communicate post-meeting insights.

Who They’re Looking For

Required:

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, MPH, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience working directly with payers and IDNs, with demonstrated ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare decision makers.
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, the payer environment, disease management, real-world evidence generation, and HEOR fundamentals.
  • Business and market fluency, including quality programs, formulary management, and pathway development.
  • Excellent communication, scientific presentation skills, cross-functional collaboration, and customer orientation.
  • Deep understanding of the FDA, HIPAA, OIG, and all ethical guidelines affecting medical engagement.
  • Proven ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with strong organizational and project leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • Formal HEOR or outcomes research training.
  • Experience supporting value-based conversations or evidence generation at the health system level.
