Position Overview
Kaya Vineyard & Winery is seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic Wine Steward to join our team! This role is the heart of our guest experience—guiding visitors through wine tastings, sharing our story, and creating a welcoming, memorable atmosphere. Key Responsibilities
- Host Wine Tastings: Educate guests about our wines, vineyards, and winemaking process in a friendly and approachable way.
- Provide Exceptional Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and make recommendations to enhance their experience.
- Upsell & Promote: Suggest bottles, flights, and merchandise to maximize guest satisfaction and sales.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep tasting areas, counters, and glassware neat and organized.
- Restock & Support: Replenish wine, supplies, and materials throughout the day.
- Event Assistance: Support private tastings, wine dinners, and special events as needed.
- Outdoor Service: Occasionally work on patios or outdoor areas, regardless of weather conditions.
- Physical Tasks: Assist with lifting and moving wine cases and other supplies (up to 50 lbs).
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old; 21 preferred (due to serving alcohol).
- Outgoing, positive personality with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn about wine and share that knowledge with guests.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and move cases of wine when needed.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (peak business times).
- Previous hospitality or retail experience is a plus, but not required—we provide training!
