Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, and sharp knives safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure compliance with sanitation standards
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service delivery
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and other team members
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
