Food Service Worker

Position Summary

The Cashier/Front-End Food Service Worker is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently processing customer orders and payments at our mobile food unit and catering events. This position serves as the face of the company by creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring every customer has a positive experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a friendly, positive attitude.
• Accurately take customer orders and answer menu questions.
• Operate the Square Point-of-Sale (POS) system to process cash, credit card, and digital payments.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance transactions at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Prepare beverages and package completed food orders according to company standards.
• Ensure orders are accurate before serving customers.
• Keep the serving area, condiment station, and work area clean and organized.
• Restock food containers, beverages, utensils, napkins, and supplies throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down the mobile food trailer or catering stations.
• Maintain professional appearance and follow company uniform standards.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Help with light food preparation when needed.
• Assist with catering event setup, serving, and cleanup.
• Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Report equipment issues or customer concerns to management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred. Although students are encouraged to apply!
• Previous cashier, restaurant, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience using Square POS or similar register systems is a plus.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and make change.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (6–10 hours).
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and walk.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $16.24 - $16.76 per hour
