PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS SPECIALIST
Position Overview
Kawasaki Robotics is a leading supplier of industrial robots and automation systems serving applications worldwide. As part of the Semiconductor team, the Procurement & Logistics Specialist supports inventory control, shipping/receiving, and procurement operations.
This role manages the flow of incoming and outgoing materials, maintains accurate inventory in SAP, and ensures efficient, compliant, and cost-effective logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory & SAP
- Process work orders and generate purchase orders in SAP
- Maintain accurate inventory records and location tracking
- Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support physical inventory
- Maintain appropriate stocking and re-order levels
- Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
- Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Receive, inspect, tag, and store materials; post inventory receipts
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including freight scheduling and tracking
- Select carriers and methods based on cost, urgency, and reliability
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and documentation
- Handle returns and outbound shipments
- Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Communicate with suppliers on order status, lead times, and discrepancies
- Negotiate with vendors and carriers to secure competitive pricing
- Support procurement and vendor management activities
- Reporting & Operations
- Maintain shipping and inventory reports; generate month-end reports
- Organize warehouse and inventory areas for efficient handling
- Assist with general logistics support and serve as Shipping/Receiving backup
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong SAP or ERP experience
- Experience with domestic and international logistics coordination
- Working knowledge of international trade (Incoterms, HTS codes, dangerous goods as applicable)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking and bending.
- Willingness to obtain forklift certification
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating freight rates and vendor pricing
- Familiarity with RMA processes
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Smartsheet
- Warehouse or inventory operations experience
