Kawasaki Motors Retail Finance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Funding Associate II to join our team. This role is integral to the setup and success of our funding operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Funding Manager to ensure that approved applicants are processed efficiently and that funds are disbursed to dealers in a timely manner, and that more complex transactions are handled with the expertise and judgment expected of a senior-level associate. The Funding Associate II is also expected to serve as a resource for less experienced team members and contribute to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing and implementing funding policies and procedures.
    • Manage the funding process for approved loan applications, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds to dealers.
    • Communicate with Credit Analysts and Dealer Partners to resolve discrepancies and obtain additional information when necessary.
    • Verify and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of all collateral supporting documentation for accuracy to ensure proper collateral perfection.
    • Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to process and manage funding transactions.
    • Review checklists to ensure post-closing tasks are performed accurately and the loan file is complete.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all funding transactions and documentation.
    • Review multiple documentation requests simultaneously.
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals.
    • Independently investigate and resolve document and booking questions.
    • Provide excellent customer service and support to dealers and customers regarding funding questions and concerns.
    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve department- and company-established service levels.
    • Assist with post-audit reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across funded deals.
    • Support training initiatives, including assisting with onboarding and reinforcing best practices for junior team members.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to Funder I team members.
    • Identify trends or recurring issues and escalate appropriately to leadership.
    • Assist in reinforcing established policies, procedures, and funding standards across the team.
    • All other job duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma, an associate degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or related field.
    • Previous experience in funding or related financial services is mandatory.
    • Previous experience working with vehicle titles across multiple states (auto, powersports, or related finance), including understanding of state-specific titling and lien perfection requirements is required.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in funding or retail finance is required, 4-5 years recommended.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to perform applicable mathematical calculations.
    • Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
    • Research and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
    • Experience providing training, mentorship, or guidance to junior funding associates.
    • Proven capability to work with leadership on special projects, audits, and compliance initiatives.
    • Working knowledge of financial services regulations together with all internal policies and procedures
    • Working knowledge of various loan structures, payment schedules, amortizations, interest rates
    • Ability to review and comprehend required entity formation documentation for all 50 states.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic understanding of financial information and lending regulations
    • Ability to work on-site in Irving, TX.

     

    Profile Differentiators:

    • Experience in founding, co-founding or working in a fast-paced startup environment
    • Experience in Powersports Finance Industry (motorcycle, ATVs UTVs, PWCs)
    • Experience in a FinTech startup
    • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Professional degree
