The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex, mission-critical network infrastructures across multiple security domains, including classified networks. This role ensures high availability, robust security, and technical excellence in support of Department of Defense operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and resilient network infrastructures across classified and unclassified domains.
- Apply expert-level knowledge of advanced networking protocols, infrastructure technologies, and security best practices.
- Manage and configure complex network devices, enforce network security policies, configure advanced ACLs, and leverage modern SDN solutions.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and implement comprehensive backup/recovery strategies to ensure high availability of network services.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation while providing expert-level guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level administrators.
- Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies to enhance network performance and security.
- Support the development and delivery of network security training and awareness programs.
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to subordinate staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
- 9 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in network administration or engineering roles.
- Deep understanding of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Specialized knowledge in areas such as network security, cloud computing, or network automation.
- Active CompTIA Network and Security certifications; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent vendor-specific certifications.
- Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems.
- Experience supporting DoD programs and working with cloud-based technologies.
- Background in J-6/G-6/S-6, SOF, or DoS environments with experience conducting cybersecurity risk assessments.
- ITIL Foundation certificate, CISSP, CCIE, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Previous experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, SOCOM, EUCOM).
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required
- Applicant MUST hold a permanent U.S. citizenship for this position in accordance with government contract requirements.
