What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Assistant - Special Education position at Kaukauna Area School District?
The Kaukauna Area School District is looking to hire three (3) Educational Assistants to fill various roles at River View Middle School for the 2026/2027 school year and beyond. The candidates selected for this position will help students learn and create a positive classroom environment where every student can succeed. They will help students with their schoolwork and support their social and emotional growth. Educational assistants will work with students who have different learning needs. If hired, we will help you get the necessary program aide license.
Responsibilities:
Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them learn
Support classroom expectations and make the classroom a positive place for learning
Work with teachers to create and use student learning plans
Keep track of how students are doing and share updates with teachers
Supervise students during times when they are not in class, like lunch or recess
Provide help to students based on their individual needs
Qualifications:
At least a high school diploma; having an associate degree is a plus
Strong communication and people skills
Able to work well with teachers and other school staff
Passion for helping students do their best
Experience working with middle school aged students is helpful but not required
