Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the service department team, including service technicians and mechanics, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work.
- Oversee all aspects of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
- Manage daily operations including scheduling appointments, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of services while maintaining safety standards.
- Drive customer satisfaction by providing expert advice on vehicle repairs and maintenance needs; promote upselling of additional services to enhance customer value.
- Oversee auto estimating and service writing processes to accurately document repairs and communicate effectively with customers.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining accurate records; support sales initiatives related to automobile sales when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and safety regulations across all service activities.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive mechanic experience with proficiency in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, alignments, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and auto body repair.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting client relationships.
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing to accurately assess vehicle issues and communicate solutions clearly.
- Strong sales acumen with experience in upselling automotive services and automobile sales when appropriate.
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain detailed records.
