Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, particularly in a hospital or acute care setting. The Pharmacy Technician will assist in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Duties

• Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Utilize aseptic technique for the preparation of IV infusions and other sterile products.
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
• Assist in managing inventory, including ordering, restocking, and maintaining accurate records of medications.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in critical care environments.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies.
• Document medication administration accurately in patient records.
• Stay updated on medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred; experience in a hospital setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and IV infusion preparation is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within acute care settings.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in medication administration is advantageous.
