What are the responsibilities and job description for the KEO Youth Mediation Coordinator position at Kauai Economic Opportunity, Inc.?
PRIMARY/PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Mediation Director, this position is responsible for developing, coordinating, facilitating, and maintaining the KEO Youth Mediation Program, including the Peer Mediation Program and the Effective Communications Program at schools and at organizations focused on the youth.

Equipmen Use : Computer, Telephone
Work hours - Weekdays 9 am - 1 pm
MENTAL DEMANDS: Attention to detail. Use professional demeanor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Duties require continuous sitting for periods of time; using telephone and talking about programs, driving to various meeting and program sites
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS; Duties require communication with inside and outside agencies using considerable tact and discretion being professional at all times.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: College degree or any comparable combination of education and experience which would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of this position. Experience or education directly related to social work, conflict resolutionm and/or mental health a plus. Knowledge about and contacts with Kauai schools and youth organizations a big plus!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Delivers age-appropriate conflict resolution-related training relating to its programs
- Delivers effectiv and age-appropriate conflict resolution-related communications skills training
- Contracting, speaking, planning, and coordinating with appropriate personnel about its program
- Assists and works with personnel of each program
- Assists in creating, updating, ordering, and maintaining materials for each program
- Develops and administers evaluation tools for each program
- Works and assists Mediation Director in promoting the Youth Program
- Maintains a data system to track participants and sponsors information of each program
- Coordinates to showcase the KEO Youth Mediation Program
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Work independently andalso as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication
- Proficient in working with computers using Word, Exce, and Power Point
- Attend and complete Basic Mediation Training Workshop
