Duties
- Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions
- Coordinate special events, outings, and themed activities to enhance community involvement and resident satisfaction
- Assist residents with daily activities (ADLs), including mobility, dressing, and personal care when needed
- Foster socialization by encouraging participation in group activities and one-on-one interactions
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and cognitive abilities
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure smooth operation of daily programming
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in long-term care settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with team members
- Familiarity with aging issues counseling, social work principles, and home & community care practices
- Demonstrated organizational skills for schedule management and activity coordination
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for older adults
