Reports To: Environmental Supervisor
Duty Days: 260 Days
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: A04
Qualifications:
Texas Operator’s License
College hours, high school diploma or GED
Ability to perform indoor air quality walk-through inspections
Construction/maintenance experience preferred (sheetrock work desired)
RFCI abatement certificate or ability to obtain within six months of hire date
IAQ technician license or ability to obtain within six months of hire date
Mold worker remediation certificate or ability to obtain a within six months of hire date
Knowledge or ability to learn IAQ equipment (RH, Q-Trak, RM)
Knowledge and ability to perform in construction trades
Good computer skills and record keeping skills necessary
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Proficient in English (verbal and written)
Primary Purpose:
Perform job functions to assist the district in maintaining compliance with State and local agencies. The Environmental Department strives for superior conditions promoting safety and a healthy environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform indoor air quality inspections.
- Application of insecticides, herbicides and pest control devices.
- Remove asbestos floor tile according to RFCI.
- Remove mold according to supervisor verbal instructions and written protocol.
- Operate testing equipment.
- Maintain monitoring data and documents as required.
- Evaluate environmental problems.
- Assist in hazardous waste disposal.
- Assist in roofing and waterproofing projects/inspections.
- Make minor repairs of any nature as related to job function.
- Recognize when a specialized trade is needed to solve problems.
- Perform inspections of district-owned facilities on a regular basis.
- Practice safe working conditions and use PPE when required.
- Report possible safety hazards to supervisor immediately.
- May be required to work night shift, odd hours or occasional overtime.

Q-Trak, moisture meters, particulate counter, power tools, hand tools, testing equipment, sprayer application equipment, computer, camera
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Continual walking, standing; frequent carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent district wide travel.
