Qualifications:
High School Graduate, college credits or related experience in asset management, inventory control, warehouse, or logistics is preferred
Ability to thrive in office and/or warehouse environment
Proficient in computer applications
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with administrators and staff
Initiative and creativity to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work projects; detail oriented
Valid Texas Driver’s License required
Primary Purpose:
Assist in the development and maintenance of an accountable inventory system for District capital and trackable assets that complies with all TEA provisions and District capitalization policies. Maintain asset warehouse inventory and asset management database. This position blends office-based asset record-keeping and reporting with hands-on warehouse receiving, inventory, and distribution duties.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming technology and capital assets delivered to the warehouse.
- Apply asset tags and accurately create/record new asset records in the district’s asset management system, assigning appropriate categories, useful lives and other required data fields.
- Organize, maintain, and track technology and peripheral parts inventory to ensure accurate warehouse records and efficient distribution.
- Coordinate with the various District departments to ensure timely identification, tagging and recording of assets.
- Maintain the asset database by recording improvements, adjustments, transfers, and retirements of assets.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting the annual physical inventory, including RFID scanning, asset verification, and reconciliation for the district’s capital and trackable assets.
- Prepare, stage, and package asset/technology orders for delivery to campuses and district departments; coordinate distribution of assets.
- Make deliveries and assist with pickup/transportation of equipment between the warehouse and district locations, driving district vehicles when required.
- Assist in ensuring all assets recorded in the general ledger are also appropriately accounted for in the capital and trackable asset systems.
- Assist in identifying, sorting, processing, and properly disposing of surplus or retired technology/assets in accordance with district processes.
- Follow all district procedures for asset management, inventory control, and data accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
