Katten, a global Am Law 100 law firm, seeks a highly qualified Staff Attorney to join its premier Financial Markets Litigation and Enforcement group in the Chicago office.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in financial markets litigation, regulatory enforcement, and/or compliance. Candidates will be expected to contribute to a wide variety of financial services matters, including both regulatory advice and disputes. The inter-disciplinary position will involve assistance with private litigation and enforcement matters involving the CFTC, SEC, FINRA, and securities and derivatives exchanges. Typical matters may include disputes over equities or derivatives trade practices and enforcement of the federal securities or commodities laws. In addition, the Staff Attorney will assist with the preparation of application materials and related documentation for clients seeking to register with the CFTC and SEC, as well as memberships with the commissions' self-regulatory organizations. Finally, this role may also involve matters on related antitrust and white collar criminal matters as needed.
All candidates must have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and the ability to work well on a team. Candidates are required to be bar licensed in Illinois or eligible for admission on waiver. Candidates should note that this position is not on partnership track.
The estimated salary range for this role is $150,000 - $250,000. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to experience/job history, class/graduation year, and practice area of the selected candidate.
