Job Title: Assistant Baker
Schedule: 4:00 AM start time, shifts may vary by business needs
Reports to: Baking Manager / Head Baker
Job Summary
The Assistant Baker supports the daily production of fresh baked Sourdough goods, starting early in the morning to ensure products are ready for customers at opening. This role includes preparing dough, shaping dough, assisting with baking tasks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive promptly at 4:00 AM to begin daily baking preparations.
- Assist with scaling, mixing, shaping, and proofing dough.
- Bake breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare ingredients and organize baking stations for efficiency.
- Operate and clean bakery equipment safely and properly.
- Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Support the Head Baker and Baking Manager with any additional production tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous baking or food preparation experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to work early morning shifts starting at 4:00 AM.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under time constraints.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
