About the Role
This is an entry-level hybrid position with the ability to make your own schedule. Katie's AG Solutions is seeking a Water Compliance Specialist to assist agricultural growers in meeting California's Agricultural Order 4.0 water quality requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about agricultural compliance while supporting local growers in protecting water resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to agricultural growers on California Agricultural Order 4.0 water quality requirements
- Assist growers with developing Irrigation and Nutrient Management Plans (INMPs)
- Help growers complete required water quality monitoring and reporting
- Conduct on-site farm visits to assess compliance needs and provide technical support
- Educate growers on nitrogen management, irrigation efficiency, and best management practices
- Assist with enrollment and documentation for the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board
- Maintain accurate records and help growers prepare for regulatory inspections
- Serve as a liaison between growers and regulatory agencies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, Soil Science, or related field, OR equivalent experience in agriculture
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with growers
- Willingness to learn about water quality regulations and agricultural compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to farms throughout the region
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in agriculture and environmental protection
- Knowledge of farming practices or irrigation systems
- Experience working outdoors or in agricultural settings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to conduct on-site farm visits in various weather conditions
- Capability to walk through agricultural fields and navigate uneven terrain
- Occasional lifting of sampling equipment up to 30 pounds
- Ability to drive to multiple farm locations throughout the Central Coast region
- Comfortable working in outdoor agricultural settings
