What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educator position at Katie Brown Educational Program?
The Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) is seeking a full-time, year-round Educator to join our team. In this role, you will provide violence prevention and healthy relationship education to students in grades 4 through 12 throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and parts of Rhode Island.
Educators spend most of their time teaching in schools and community settings. Programs may also be delivered in youth groups, after-school programs, therapeutic settings, and other community locations.
When not teaching, Educators work from the KBEP office to prepare for programming, complete administrative tasks, collaborate with staff, and support other organizational needs.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with youth in grades 4–HS
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Experience leading groups of students in a classroom or similar setting
- Commitment to violence prevention and creating inclusive learning environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and parts of Rhode Island
- Ability to maintain the regular work schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Ability to pass a CORI background check
Helpful Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Familiarity with youth-serving organizations or school systems
