Join our dental team as a Part Time Dental Hygienist and help patients build healthy habits through attentive, preventive care. You’ll assess oral health, provide hygiene services, document findings, and explain care recommendations in clear, supportive language. This role works with patients across age groups, including children, in a general dentistry setting.
Duties
- Perform patient assessments, and provide preventive dental care, including dental X-rays
- Educate patients on dental care, oral hygiene, and follow-up recommendations; communicate clearly with patients and the care team.
- Prepare and maintain dental equipment, use aseptic technique, and follow infection prevention and control practices.
- Maintain accurate medical records and electronic health records (EHR); review documentation and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
- Your impact: Consistent assessments and practical patient education help patients understand their oral health and make informed care decisions.
Qualifications
- Required: Current Maine dental hygiene license
- Dental office or clinic experience; knowledge of general and pediatric dentistry, pediatrics, dental and medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with dental software for electronic charting and radiographs
- Demonstrated client communication, HIPAA compliance, maintaining patient confidentiality, infection control, and healthcare infection prevention expertise.
Pay: $48.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 per week
