Purpose of Position

At Kate Weiser Chocolate, the steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facility. By providing our team with clean tools and equipment, the steward helps sustain our manufacturing processes and ensures that every product begins with the highest quality standards. This position requires organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in order to succeed. Working closely with the team, the steward contributes to completing daily responsibilities and any additional tasks that arise during the shift.

Position Environment

This is a seasonal position through December 23rd, based at our Garland, TX headquarters. The typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. However, beginning October 6th, the schedule will temporarily shift to 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM for six weeks, before returning to standard hours for the remainder of the season. The steward works in a production facility environment and is responsible for supporting kitchen operations by upholding sanitation, safety, and efficiency. This role requires physical stamina, attention to cleanliness, and a collaborative mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment and tools.
• Organize and maintain the mould room and workspaces.
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
• Operate dishwashing and floor-cleaning equipment while following safety and SDS guidelines.
• Arrive on time, work efficiently, and collaborate with the team to meet production demands.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Knowledge of dishwashing equipment and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, or sanitation experience preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and ability to commute to Garland, TX.
