Duties
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, promoting teamwork and professional growth
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish served
- Manage inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain rigorous standards for food handling and sanitation
- Assist with coordinating catering events, banquets, and special functions with precision and attention to detail
- Address guest feedback, resolve complaints, and implement improvements to enhance food quality and service
- Lead shift management by overseeing kitchen operations during service hours, and resolving any operational issues promptly
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining and catering environments
- Proven supervising experience in a high-volume kitchen setting
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, inventory management, and food handling procedures
- Expertise in menu planning, food preparation techniques, and kitchen management systems
- Experience with banquet operations, dietary departments, and large-scale food production
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff and other departments
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen management experience, including 4 years in an Executive Chef or similar leadership role
- Proven experience in high-volume restaurant, catering, or food production environments
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Culinary degree preferred or equivalent hands-on experience
- ServSafe certification preferred
