Job Summary

The Production Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring the efficient flow of materials to and from production workstations. This position enables operators to remain focused on value-added tasks by proactively supplying materials, tools, and packaging, while also managing finished goods and removing waste. The role is critical to minimizing downtime, maintaining productivity, and supporting overall workflow efficiency. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Service production lines by removing finished goods and replenishing empty containers/racks.
• Deliver components, raw materials, tools, and supplies to production workstations based on production schedules and operational needs.
• Remove empty containers, scrap, and waste from the line. Work closely with production team to ensure timely restock.
• Remove tags from dunnage as required. 
• Monitor inventory and restock materials such as clips, brackets, saw blades, and weld tips.
• Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, and equipment issues to the proper personnel. 
• Participate in 5S initiatives to maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Support lean manufacturing principles, including Kanban and FIFO material flow methods.
• Use barcode scanners and/or ERP systems to track inventory movement. 
• Assist with line-side setups, changeovers, and other production support as needed.
• Adhere to all safety, quality and company procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities are required or assigned by leadership.

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow standard operation procedures (SOP).
