Responsibilities
- Assist the restaurant manager in daily operations, including overseeing staff schedules and shift management
- Support food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Supervise staff training, development, and performance evaluations
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction
- Ensure quality control in food production, presentation, and service delivery
- Assist with budgeting, cost control, and maintaining operational efficiency
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food handling, food safety protocols, and culinary standards
- Support customer service initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction
- Participate in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Maintain compliance with health regulations and hospitality standards across all departments
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or as an assistant manager within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety practices
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising or team management experience
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Background in managing inventory control and food handling procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in casual dining, fine dining, or quick service restaurants is advantageous
- Knowledge of catering, banquet service, or hotel/restaurant experience is a plus
- Effective communication skills for staff training and customer interaction
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends if needed; however, this role primarily supports daytime operations
