Responsible for end-to-end ownership of procurement and supply chain operations supporting MRI R&D programs. This includes sourcing, supplier management, quality coordination, and supply planning to ensure timely availability of materials across multiple concurrent workstreams. The role requires a hands-on, cross-functional expert capable of managing supplier relationships, mitigating supply risks, and ensuring seamless material flow in a dynamic R&D environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle from RFQ creation to purchase order placement and final delivery.
- Conduct supplier negotiations to ensure cost-effective sourcing while meeting technical and timeline requirements.
- Execute and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timely release, and adherence to project schedules.
- Perform continuous order tracking and expediting, proactively following up with suppliers to avoid delays.
- Monitor and manage material availability against build schedules, ensuring no disruption to R&D activities.
- Identify supply risks (long lead times, single-source dependencies, shortages) and implement mitigation plans.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all supplier interactions, including issue resolution and escalation handling.
- Manage supplier quality issues, including non-conformances, and corrective action follow-ups.
- Maintain end-to-end visibility of material status, having clarity of regular updates on deliveries, risks, and delays of the parts.
- Collaborate closely with Latham R&D team to understand demand priorities and align procurement execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, tracking systems, and reporting dashboards for procurement and supply chain activities.
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing.
- Strong experience in end-to-end procurement lifecycle for Superconducting magnets (preferred)/Cryogenics (RFQ � PO � delivery).
- Proven exposure to complex, BOM-driven environments (engineering / manufacturing / healthcare preferred).
- Experience managing multi-supplier ecosystems and vendor relationships.
- Working knowledge of supplier quality processes (Non-Conformance Report handling, audits).
- Experience in material planning, demand-supply coordination, and scheduling.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) is good to have.
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
