They are seeking a Production Control Manager who can bring structure, discipline, and visibility to production planning, scheduling, inventory flow, and supplier coordination across multiple facilities.
Position Summary
The Production Control Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory, labor, and capacity. This role works closely with operations, purchasing, suppliers, and sales to ensure material availability, schedule stability, and efficient production execution. The ideal candidate understands how strong supplier relationships directly impact ordering accuracy, lead times, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage master production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery commitments
- Coordinate production planning across multiple facilities to optimize capacity and material flow
- Analyze demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels to drive accurate production plans
- Partner closely with Purchasing and key suppliers to build strong relationships that improve ordering accuracy, lead times, and material availability
- Work directly with suppliers to resolve shortages, delivery issues, and schedule changes
- Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to address constraints, downtime, or changes in demand
- Manage inventory levels to balance customer service, working capital, and production efficiency
- Use ERP systems to drive visibility, accuracy, and discipline in production planning and control
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, ordering processes, and schedule stability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to throughput, inventory turns, and on-time delivery
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production control, planning, or scheduling within a manufacturing environment
- Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong learning ability and proven performance
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Plex or SAP experience strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and material planning
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-facility or multi-plant planning responsibility
- Experience with MRP, capacity planning, and supplier collaboration
- Experience working directly with external suppliers in a manufacturing environment
