Working under the direction of Project Managers and Field Supervisors, the technician ensures that sites are properly prepared and cables are installed and pulled efficiently and safely. This role involves local travel and operation of specialized equipment such as shovels, excavators, and plows.
Responsibilities
- Install fiber optic cables in rural deployment projects
- Prepare sites for cable installation, including digging and operating machinery
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and plows
- Pull fiber optic cables ensuring proper placement and tension
- Adhere to all on-site safety guidelines and protocols
- Report progress and any issues to Project Managers and Field Supervisors
- Conduct local travel to various deployment sites as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in fiber optic technology
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of cable pulling techniques
- Experience operating heavy machinery
- Understanding of safety procedures relevant to outdoor fieldwork
