What You'll Do
As an LPN, you'll provide direct nursing services and promote health and wellness for individuals supported by KWI. Your day will include:
- Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitoring individuals' health status and documenting care accurately
- Responding to medical emergencies using proper procedures
- Completing required reports and nursing documentation
- Communicating changes in condition to residential staff, guardians, physicians, and other members of the care team
- Ensuring infection control and safe nursing practices
- Supporting and guiding Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in individuals' care
- Promoting dignity, autonomy, safety, and individual rights at all times
What You Bring
- Current Illinois LPN License (Required)
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a nursing team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use lifts/transfer equipment safely, and remain active on your feet
