We are seeking a skilled and experienced Personal Injury Calendar Clerk/Coordinator to manage court deadlines, provide litigation support, and assist with the overall organization and progression of personal injury cases. Calendaring & Case Management Duties
- Manage, monitor, and update court deadlines on the firm’s electronic calendar (State & Federal).
- Must be familiar with California State laws and procedures, including legal research, document preparation, and compliance with state-specific regulations
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local jurisdictional and Federal Court regulations.
- File documents electronically via Pacer and other e-filing systems.
- Knowledge of filing deadlines in State and Federal Court (required).
- Assign cases to attorneys or legal teams and monitor case progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- Coordinate and issue subpoenas.
Case Support
- Manage personal injury cases from filing complaints to resolution.
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all stages of personal injury litigation, including preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings.
- Draft and respond to deposition notices, prepare mediation briefs, and assist with pre-trial motions.
- Conduct client interviews, gather relevant case information, and organize case files, pleadings, and legal documents.
- Assist with trial preparation, such as organizing exhibits and witness files, scheduling experts, and coordinating depositions.
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- Draft correspondence, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
Client & Administrative Support
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure exceptional customer service and support.
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and opposing counsel.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing attorney calendars, transcribing dictations, and proofreading documents.
- Prepare and file court documents in a timely manner and coordinate with court personnel as necessary.
- Maintain professional and confidential relationships with clients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of calendaring experience in a legal setting.
- Strong knowledge of California State laws and procedures, including legal research, document preparation, and compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Strong knowledge of court filing deadlines and calendaring processes (State & Federal).
- Proficiency in legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- AA certification and/or Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience as a personal injury paralegal or in a related field.
- Familiarity with court procedures, filing requirements, and personal injury law.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
