Lab Maintenance and Organization
- Manage and maintain the hardware lab, ensuring all equipment, tools, and workstations are properly organized and functional.
- Track and manage inventory of hardware components, cables, tools, and testing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols in the lab environment.
- Be a subject matter expert on the various test equipment and tools, and able to train and support other engineers testing
- Assist in assembling and configuring networking devices, such as APs, routers, and switches, for testing and prototyping.
- Perform hardware testing and validation using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers).
- Conduct product level performance and functional compatibility testing.
- Document and report testing results, highlighting issues and suggesting improvements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, connectivity problems, and firmware-related errors.
- Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to support product development and testing.
- Assist software teams in setting up test environments and configuring devices for system integration testing.
- Provide input on lab infrastructure improvements and propose new tools or technologies for testing.
- Associate’s degree or certification in electronics, computer hardware, or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience as a hardware technician or in a related role within the networking or electronics industry.
- Strong understanding of networking devices, protocols, and hardware concepts (e.g., Ethernet, Wi-Fi, VLANs).
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and Traffic analyzers.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues at the system and component level.
- Ability to read and understand schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of operating equipment (test tools, system build up, server rack setup, run validation on systems/servers) in the labs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail and organization.
- Strong communication skills for reporting and documenting results.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware debugging.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of lab tasks.
- Understanding of environmental and compliance testing (e.g., EMI/EMC).
- Familiarity with Networking protocols and performance test equipment like Keysight, Ixia, VeriWave, Spirent and Octoscope
- Knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standard protocols in 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequency band
- Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 Protocols (For Power and Communication)
