Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level SDETs and developers on automation and quality best practices.
• Lead test strategy and quality architecture across multiple teams.
• Drive shift-left testing by integrating tests earlier in the development lifecycle.
• Own the quality metrics framework and ensure actionable reporting on test coverage, defect leakage, flakiness, and test debt.
• Ownership of test data strategy, including synthetic data generation and data masking for secure and scalable test environments.
• Develop automated tests for both back-end (e.g., APIs, services) and front-end (e.g., web UI) components.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks that integrate seamlessly into the SDLC/STLC.
• Create and maintain automated test suites based on acceptance criteria.
• Automate manual tests and incorporate them into regression test suites.
• Develop automated post-deployment testing to support production readiness evaluations.
• Participate in post-implementation reviews and apply lessons learned.
• Collaboration with product and UX teams to ensure testability and usability are considered early in the design phase.
• Participation in code reviews to advocate for testability and quality gates.
• Incident analysis and postmortem participation to improve test coverage and prevent regressions.
  
  

 

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
• 7 years of QA/development experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
• Solid understanding of QA processes and the SDLC/STLC.
• Extensive experience with BDD/TDD.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and event-driven/HTTP architectures.
• Understanding of the test automation pyramid (unit, integration, acceptance).
• Experience with performance, security, or accessibility testing.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills, especially in distributed systems.

• Experience with full stack and API development.
• API/UI Testing Tools: Ready API, Postman, Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Scripting & Development: Shell scripts, batch files, C#-based applications.
• Version Control & Cloud: Git, Azure, and AWS.
• Performance testing tools: JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Platforms & Environments: Windows, UNIX/Linux, VMware.
• Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL DBs.
• Monitoring and observability tools: Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus.
