Role Description This part - time , on-site ( telehealth as needed) Licensed Professional Counselor/ Marriage and Family Therapist role is based in Monroe, LA. The counselor will provide individual counseling as well as family counseling services, including intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing therapeutic sessions. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating care with other providers when needed, and monitoring client progress toward treatment goals. The counselor will also provide crisis intervention, participate in case reviews or consultations, and ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and professional standards. Additional duties may include contributing to practice improvement initiatives and participating in ongoing training or supervision as required.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent independent clinical license in the state of Louisiana, in good standing. PLPC may be considered .
- Master’s degree or higher in Professional Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy (or a closely related behavioral health field).
- Demonstrated experience providing individual counseling and developing person-centered treatment plans using evidence-based modalities.
- Strong skills in clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and crisis intervention in an outpatient or similar setting.
- Ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with confidentiality, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with diverse clients.
- Comfort working on-site as part of a small practice, with the ability to manage a consistent caseload and organize daily workflow.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency; willingness to learn practice-specific tools.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in supervision, training, and continuing education.
- Prior experience in private practice, community mental health, or outpatient clinical settings is preferred but not required.
- EMDR certification is a plus .
