Wire Tech (Full time or Part time)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This position operates in a manufacturing production setting. It occasionally is exposed to movement of mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually loud/moderate. Typical day and hours are 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday. Overtime as required.
Physical Demands
The position will require frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing and lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. Occasionally, it may require sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and/or team lifting or moving up to 100 lbs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Installs electrical wiring and assemble components in control cabinets, electrical and industrial equipment, related industrial apparatus, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Knows the project well enough to give sound advice, make snap decisions and keep production flow steady.
- Knows how to do all production activities to ensure a more accurate decision.
- Treats any questions as important, to help get an immediate response.
- Helps sales determine if job can be bid to meet fast turnarounds.
- Knows how to scale a drawing and basic panel and back plate layout.
- Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
- Attaches devices to panels and back plates using screws, bolts and mounting rails.
- Cuts, strips, bends and forms wire cable, conduit, pipe, and tubing used to connect circuits, subassemblies and pneumatic equipment.
- Makes and installs labels on wires.
- Makes and installs markers on terminals.
- Connects color-coded wires to proper connection points.
- Solders connections and crimps connectors to wire ends.
- Adjusts electrical assemblies.
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
- Maintains a desire to work, good attitude and work ethic and see that everything runs smoothly by minimizing problems.
- Designs and builds crates.
- Wraps and/or crates finished product.
- Safely loads and unloads products from trucks.
- Knows how to do and understands basic U.L. specifications.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of good and services to both internal and external customers.
- Responsible for following work orders and procedures as determined by the Quality Management Systems standards of ISO 9001.

- No Supervisory Responsibilities
- Completes company LEAN training and participates in Kaizen events as needed.
- Understands Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements and how it applies to this position as determined by ISO 9001 and to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Completes Forklift Training.
- Completes Crane Training.
- High School diploma/GED preferred.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instruction, either written or verbal, diagram or schedule.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers in a one-on-one and/or group setting.
- Ability to read U.S. linear tape measure.
- Ability to work with fractions and decimals, converting them back and forth.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to multi-task in a high pace environment.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize time and various projects.
