Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Freight Sales Associate to join our logistics and transportation team. This role involves developing and maintaining client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing freight solutions within the supply chain. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to acquire new clients and expand existing accounts within the freight and logistics sector.
- Manage customer relationships through effective communication, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, and AS400 to track leads, manage accounts, and streamline sales processes.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients, carriers, and third-party logistics providers (3PL).
- Coordinate transportation planning, dispatching, and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of freight solutions.
- Lead lead generation efforts through market research, cold calling, and networking within the supply chain industry.
- Collaborate with internal teams on freight quoting, data entry, dispatching, and compliance with FDA regulations when applicable.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and contractual agreements for reporting purposes.
- Stay informed on industry trends such as NVOCC operations, transportation management systems advancements, and logistics sales strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management or transportation management roles with a focus on freight or logistics sales.
- Strong background in B2B sales within the freight forwarding or 3PL industry.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software (such as Salesforce), EDI platforms, and AS400 is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of logistics planning, carrier sales, negotiations, contracts management, and transportation planning processes.
- Experience working with NVOCC operations or within FDA-regulated environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads through prospecting activities such as cold calling or networking.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with strong communication abilities to foster long-term client relationships. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
