Job Summary

Kartchner Engineering is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer with experience in HVAC and plumbing system drafting and design to join our team in downtown Spokane.

This role supports our engineers in the development of construction documents, system layouts, and mechanical designs for building projects. The ideal candidate is proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify HVAC and plumbing construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit &BIM 360
• Assist engineers with mechanical system layouts and design documentation
• Develop detailed plans, sections, and system diagrams
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines
• Revise drawings based on project updates and engineer feedback
• Maintain CAD/BIM standards and organized project files
• Familiarity with architectural drawings & models

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing drafting or mechanical design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (MEP knowledge is a plus)
• Working knowledge of Revit & BIM 360 (at least 6-months)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Work Schedule
